このコースは、英語力向上を目的とした6ヶ月間の英文ライティングプログラムです。

6ヶ月の間、隔週で英文ライティングを行い、作品をコーチに送ります。各課題のトピックは、以下の例のように、コーチが具体的に提案します。

1. Military service
Should Japan require all post-high school students, female and male, to serve two years in the military? Your response should include reasons why all students should or should not. Your assignment could examine such topics as how universal military service would impact universities, employment, and families. You could also examine how universal military service would impact pacifists and whether or not community service instead of military service could be an alternative for pacifists. These are complex topics, so you may want to write more about one aspect of military service rather than all of the suggested topics.

2. Business transparency
Recently a number of business scandals have surfaced in a number of countries. One proposed solution is more transparency in business. Do you believe that transparency will reduce or eliminate the number of business scandals? Your assignment could summarize an example of a recent scandal as well as discuss transparency as a solution. Perhaps you have other solutions that you may want to discuss.

3. Feminism in Japan
The feminist movement in Japan seems to be having a significant impact. Do you agree or disagree with that statement? Your assignment is to examine the impact of the feminist movement in Japan. You could do so from a variety of perspectives. One perspective could be women at work. Another could be women in the home. One possibility is how feminism impacts the relationships between women and men. Still another aspect could be observations that you have made in your daily life.

4. Food change
In the last two or so decades, eating patterns in Japan have significantly changed. More food is imported and the traditional Japanese diet seems to be one of several options rather than the only option. Your assignment is to examine the changes in the Japanese diet and the impact of the changes in society around you.


課題に取り組み、作品をコーチに提出します。コーチは作品を読み、批評をします。誤りの訂正、単語の選択、各文の論理的なつながり、段落から段落へのスムーズな展開などの点から作品を評価します。ライティング学習で行き詰まったときには、コーチがそれを乗り越えるための提案をします。


6ヶ月後には、英文ライティング力の大幅な向上とスキルアップを達成することができるでしょう。
